“Loretta Lynn has always been one of my favorites. And probably a memory that I’ll treasure forever was when I was a kid I actually got to go to The Opry. I think my mom won tickets on the radio and took me. And I walked up and handed her a rose while she was on stage. So that was one of those things that’s indelible in my mind. And you know what, she is and forever will be a legend in country music.”
“Loretta Lynn is one of my absolute biggest inspirations. I remember first hearing country music as a young girl. And hearing her voice and her songs and her sense of humor. It reminded me of where my family’s from in southern Ohio and made me feel like maybe one day I could sing about things in my life. And there’s definitely a Loretta Lynn sized hole in the world right now. But she will live on forever through her music and through her fans, and there’s only one, there can only be one Loretta Lynn.”
“It heavies my heart to know that Loretta Lynn has passed. I mean as much as she has done for Country Music. It’s breathtaking to have another legend leave this world. I grew up listening to Loretta Lynn with my grandma who is just a humongous fan of hers. So just praying for peace for her family and I hope for the best for them as well.”
“Loretta was obviously a trailblazer for everyone who does anything in country music. You know, and the songs that she wrote and the way that she sang them, and how she grew up, and the impact that she had on on our genre. And the world is immense and it will be deeply, deeply missed. She was always, you know, so gracious to me and yeah, it’s a big void in country music having her gone.“
“My favorite memory of Loretta Lynn, there are a few but I got to play at her birthday event at Bridgestone a couple of years ago. And she sat side stage and was just so sweet to us. We got to meet her right after. And yeah, I feel like she’s always been an icon but it’s very sad to lose someone that had such a stronghold on the truth telling of this genre, but she’ll be remembered forever.”
Colton: “We were so devastated to hear this morning of the passing of Loretta Lynn. She was such a big impact on country music. There wasn’t a single person who didn’t know Coal Miner’s Daughter. And she paved the way for so many women that came after her. And I know for me personally growing up in West Virginia, and with Loretta Lynn growing up in Kentucky and Butcher Holler right across the border. It was such an inspiration to me to see that somebody could make it out of such a small place and have such a big impact on country music. You’ll be greatly missed Loretta.”
