RYAN HURD: ON ACM PERFORMANCE AND MAREN’S WINS (AUDIO AND VIDEO LINK)

The ACM awards this year, I can’t believe, I still can’t believe they asked me to perform on them. I know there’s a lot of people that probably, I mean, when there’s so many people that they could have asked, and I really am still floored. It was so amazing to get to do that with Maren. If I never get to do it again, I’m so glad that it was this song and it was with her. It was such a moment, not just musically, but I think just for us, so special to share it. And it was amazing to like, feel like we were the only two people in the world in that moment. And hopefully, that’s what everybody else felt. And you know, the like seeing the fan reaction was really cool. I know that those award shows kind of like all or nothing as far as fan reception and to have so many people reach out and be so positive and encouraging. And say- tell us that they loved it was a massive blessing. And I’m so thankful for each and every one of you. And I don’t know, I don’t know if I’ll ever get to do something like that again. I hope so. Because it was so fun. And truly, I’m thankful for the opportunity and I really do love what we got to do. And I’m thankful for everybody that got to see it and liked it too. So yeah, ACMS 2021, Hurd out.
ACM awards 2021. I think Maren was nominated, like, I think four or five times, think five times this year. And, you know, I’m kind of used to her getting the nominations and it’s weird to get used to her winning them. But she has lately and it’s been amazing. And it’s never something that you expect. I know that for her, she doesn’t ever expect to win. But it is so cool when you do. And I’ve been really lucky to ride shotgun on her journey and have really enjoyed getting to go to the shows with her and celebrating the wins that she does have. And I think really, though, we’re just so excited to be a part of this country music community. We love what we do, we love the music we get to make and the people we get to make it with and nights like that. We don’t take them for granted. I know she doesn’t, but for me just getting to be there while people recognize her work is really special. And I’m running out of room in our house to kind of put our trophies so we got to figure something else out. I’m I’m kind of the one who curates a little museum here. So really proud of of her and excited about that, that new problem that I get to solve. So she’s an amazing artist, and even more amazing partners. So we’re just having a lot of fun with it and so thankful for everybody, all the fans. I know she’s very excited about her new album, which is already amazing. I’m thankful that I’ve gotten to see that being made. And yeah, here’s to getting back on the road and seeing all those people that we missed so much.
