I think Anything She Says is pretty self explanatory in the title. I mean it’s just a fun song. It is not to be over thought.
Mitch Thompson of Seaforth:
Yep.
Mitchell Tenpenny:
We kind of all got in the room- I think Tom, he had a hair appointment that day so he came in a bit later, but me and Mitch were like playing guitars and finding out rhythms and stuff and just kind of talking about you know our relationships, like what it’s all about and joking around and then Tom came in with beautiful hair and—
Tom Jordan of Seaforth:
— and ruined everything.
Mitch Thompson of Seaforth:
Tom came in with the song and then…
Tom Jordan of Seaforth:
Yeah! (all laugh)
Mitchell Tenpenny:
He came in and we all just kind of started collaborating and started singing melodies together. And, it was just one of those organic days where- that’s what you want- is where it just kind of happens. I don’t remember anyone really having that idea, it just kind of came out.
Mitch Thompson of Seaforth:
Yeah. It was definitely something that just kind of progressed through the day. I was listening to the voice memo the other day of like when we were writing it and we were all spitting melodies over the top of each other. I remember we all settled on that vibe and we got it.
Mitchell Tenpenny:
Yeah. It ended up being great and going into the studio and here we are-
Mitch Thompson of Seaforth:
We were just spitting on each other (laughs)
Mitchell Tenpenny:
Yeah. Just spitting on each other, yeah.
Tom Jordan of Seaforth:
It’s how most writes happen.
Mitchell Tenpenny:
Yeah it was fine.
Mitch Thompson of Seaforth:
It was a good day.
Mitchell Tenpenny:
Yeah, it’s been incredible. You know, I was playing this song acoustic mostly for shows before we got to start our tour. And, that was the first time we got to play it as a band. And, even the first night in Nashville when we heard it sung back, I messed up the lyrics the first night because it was like so crazy for me to hear that song sung back…
Mitch Thompson of Seaforth:
You sang my verse.
Mitchell Tenpenny:
Yeah, I sang his verse twice…
Tom Jordan of Seaforth:
Yeah, we stand backstage because we come out and sing it with Mitchell (Tenpenny) every night. We stand backstage and like you extend the intro, you do twice as long an intro and every night without fail when the vocals would come in, the whole crowd starts singing it. And, for us, that’s the first time we’ve really heard like a crowd like know-know a song of ours. And, like it’s awesome, yeah.

Watching it from like a spectator point of view for like a second is nice.

Yeah, it’s cool.
