TYLER FARR: Personal Stuff  Tyler Farr says that the emotional connection in heartache songs is part of why people seem to relate to them so well. (:38)
“I think that, honestly, you know, country music was founded on a lot of that stuff. You know, you got your happy songs, your heart…but the heartache songs are like what country artists and these blues artists, they do so well, datin’ back to Hank Williams. And from ‘Blue Eyes Cryin’ in the Rain’ to George Jones with ‘He Stopped Loving Her Today,’ and you get all these just great songs. And fast songs, party songs, they make people want to dance, make ’em want to drink, but these ballads, if you will, or heartbreak songs, they touch a certain part of someone inside, it makes ’em feel somethin’ and gives ’em goose bumps. If they can relate to that, that’s personal stuff, and that’s what makes those type of songs so special and so big.”
