TYLER FARR: Ole!  Tyler Farr talks about celebrating Cinco de Mayo at his dad’s Mexican restaurant. (:20)
“It was a year or two ago, I flew in. He wanted me to play at his restaurant around Cinco de Mayo, so we had a good time. It’s always good to see everybody. All the girls turn into an absolute hot mess on Cinco de Mayo with their stomachs filled with…of tequila and tacos, so…” (laughs)

TYLER FARR: Ole!  Tyler Farr’s dad has a Mexican restaurant back in Tyler’s native Missouri. (:21)
“He’s owned a Mexican restaurant, a family-owned restaurant, for 20 years, that my grandma started years ago. So he, you know, was a black angus farmer — cattle farmer — when I was younger, and ran that restaurant, so he’s always kind of been one of them guys that has his hands full. He’s still got it up and runnin’ there in Missouri, so…in Sedalia.”

TYLER FARR: Ole!  Tyler Farr reflects on his Grand Ole Opry debut last weekend. (:36)
“It was awesome. I mean, it’s…obviously it’s just a super-humbling experience because the first time I went to the Opry, I was backstage with George Jones, who my stepdad was currently playin’ lead guitar for. So, when that was your first experience and you’re finally gettin’ to play it, it was just a…an emotional and a, you know, really cool…I was tellin’ someone, I said it kinda gave me a new burst of wind in my wings. Kinda puts it in perspective why, you know, you’re doin’ what you’re doin’ and singin’ a song. And I was doin’ ‘Hello Goodbye’ and obviously I did my single ‘Hot Mess,’ so that…it was a really cool moment, you know, one of them things that you’ll never forget.”

TYLER FARR: Ole!  Tyler Farr says that the Opry is such a welcoming place for any artist. (:23)
“They’re one of the nicest crowds you can play for ’cause everyone there loves country music. I mean, they came to hear country music. They paid good money for their seats. And so, they accepted me well, and they made it a lot, a lot easier to sing and to do it with them bein’ as kind and applaudin’ like they do, always, so it’s definitely a place to play that you can feel good about playin’.”

TYLER FARR: Ole!  Tyler Farr recalls touring the Grand Ole Opry before he dreamed of singing country music. (:26)
“I was actually lookin’ through pictures the other day. My mom showed me this picture when I was like 14 or 15. We took a trip to Nashville, and we toured the Opry, and they have a little thing where you can get up and get your picture taken with the Grand Ole Opry mic and stuff, and I’m about 14 and have, like, sunglasses on, lookin’ like a cool kid holdin’ this guitar. And so, it’s kind of funny. I had no idea I’d be singin’ country music then. It’s kind of funny how that worked out, though.”
