Tyler Farr talks about his biggest goal for his album, Redneck Crazy. (1:00)
“My biggest goal is to make music and have songs on the album at the end of the day, after it’s done, that people can relate to at certain times in their life. You know, you listen to a song like ‘Hello Goodbye’ — when you’re happy, you know, you may not want to listen to it, but that doesn’t mean there’s a million other people out there that aren’t goin’ through it, and it helps ’em get through somethin’. You know, so, this album, I, with the help of my producers and these songwriters created to make people feel somethin’ and get somethin’ out of it, whether it’s relief, or whether it’s happiness, or whether they just need to drive and listen to one of the sad songs on there and just cry their eyes out. There’s songs on there that whatever mood you’re in, or whatever it is that you need, I’m providing it on the album. That’s the best way I can describe why I made the album and how I…why I made it the way it is.”
Tyler Farr says that he’s thrilled to be able to release his full-length album debut, Redneck Crazy. (:57)
“You wait your whole music career — Day One you move to Nashville ’til this point to where you get to finally release an album. Not just an album you’re goin’ out and sellin’ yourself, but an album that releases to the whole, entire country. Somethin’ that you created and put together. That’s a pretty cool thing. It’s not just a single…you know, ‘Redneck Crazy,’ it was awesome bein’ able to release a single, but to be able to release an entire album — which I consider like a painting, where you’re…you have to have this, this, and this for it to line up just right. Well, that’s what this album is, and I’m excited for people to hear all these different sides and aspects of my music and the variations of what I do and the collaborations on there to the ballads and just this whole, entire collage of country music that I put together and hope that people will love it.”
Tyler Farr says that he’ll definitely go out to buy a copy of his debut album, Redneck Crazy. (:31)
“I think you have to go and buy your first album. It’s just like a rite of passage. You got to…I’ve been waitin’ since I was a kid to have an actual album sitting on a shelf in a store that I could go and buy and say, you know, ‘We’ve come this far.’ And I will continue to do that ’til my very last album. So, there will be more albums to come, and every time one comes out, I will go and hopefully be the first, one of the first people to be there to buy it.”
Tyler Farr may buy his new album, but don’t expect to see a self-portrait of the occasion! (:19)
“I don’t take selfies. I’m not a big selfie Instagrammer. I’m not as pretty as some of these singers, so maybe I’ll just hold it in my hand and take a picture of it, you know? But I’m excited about bein’ able to actually physically grab it off a shelf and purchase it and say, ‘We’ve accomplished this. This is another one to check off the list.'”
