audio  Trisha Yearwood says that making music “feeds her soul.” (:38)
“As an artist, what I feel like I have to do is make music. I mean, I’ve enjoyed all of the other things that have come with this second career, this whole cooking thing that’s going on: I’m lovin’ it ’cause it also comes out of something that I love to do. But music is what feeds my soul, and I can’t imagine not creating it. Whatever it does, I want it to be successful, I want to sell records, I want to have a number-one record, I want it to be like, ‘Man, can you believe after seven years…,’ I want all that to happen, but the bottom line is you have to be happy with the music you make. And if you’re truly gonna call yourself an artist, you gotta record those songs and go, ‘This fed my soul, this made me happy.’ And I feel that way, so you know, the rest is kind of up to everybody else.”
