Trisha Yearwood talks about Kelly Clarkson and the recording of “PrizeFighter.” (:38)
“When she came to sing on it, she brought Ashley who’s…I don’t know what her capacity is, but they’ve known each other a long time. And they’re tellin’ stories about being younger and jumpin’ up and down on the bed listening to all my songs. And so they’re both having this exchange of looks between the two of ’em like, ‘I can’t believe we’re here.’ And for me, it’s just weird, because I’ve been a fan of Kelly’s since I heard her on American Idol, ‘cause I’m a fan when you hear the real deal and you know it. And she is the real deal. And then when you meet her and just see how down-to-earth she is, and I don’t think…I think part of her charm is that I don’t think she knows how great she is. I don’t think she really knows it, ’cause if she really knew it, she wouldn’t speak to any of us.” (laughs)
