TRISHA YEARWOOD: Hello…Don?

audio

On her new single, “PrizeFighter,” Trisha Yearwood invited Kelly Clarkson to sing on the record — and it wasn’t the first time they’d worked together, since Kelly asked Trisha to sing on her Christmas album last year. So there’s definitely a mutual respect, but as a longtime fan, Kelly still gets a little starstruck. And while Trisha doesn’t see herself in quite that light, she definitely understands the feeling — in a “Walkaway Joe” kind of way. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

  • “PrizeFighter” and Trisha’s smash “Walkaway Joe” featuring Don Henley are both included on her November 17th album, PrizeFighter: Hit after Hit. Available for pre-order on GhostTunes, the 16-song collection includes six new songs, along with 10 of Trisha’s greatest hits.

audio  Trisha Yearwood says that she can relate to feeling a bit starstruck. (:32)
“I appreciate how she feels about me, but it’s hard for me to understand it because I don’t feel that way about myself, you know, but I understand that if I would have gotten a text early in my career from — or anytime in my career from — Linda Ronstadt, I would have lost my mind. And I still, even though I am friends with people like Emmylou Harris, to drop a name, when I hear from her, I go, ‘Yeah,’ or Don Henley, ‘Yeah, just…’. I used to call my sister — and I probably still will — you know, if  I ever hear from Don Henley, I’m like, ‘Yeah, I was talkin’ to Don today. Henley.’ And then we both freak out for a second. So, I think if you ever lose that feeling then you need to probably do somethin’ else.”
