SNAPSHOTS: Casey Still Has Hair…and Other Good Things to Know!

  • Casey James used his locks to lock in a big April Fools’ Day prank this year when he shared comments and a video where he appeared to shave his head after what was supposedly a hairstyle experiment gone wrong. Well, on Thursday night, Casey revealed it was a prank as he shared via Twitter: “Ok yall! Here i am! It was all a setup. No highlights, no haircut, no shaved head.   • Among Trisha Yearwood’s TV visits this week in support of her new cookbook, Trisha’s Table, she stopped by ABC’s The Chew to share her “Slow Cooker Georgia Pulled-Pork Barbecue.” Sounds mighty good! You can see parts one and two of Trisha’s segments here and here!
  • A whopping 34 huge hits make up this week’s release of NOW That’s What I Call ACM Awards 50 Years, an anniversary collaboration between the Academy of Country Music and NOW That’s What I Call Music!. Celebrating the Academy’s upcoming 50th annual awards, the two-CD collection (also available digitally) features tracks from 1969 through 2012, with songs from contemporary hitmakers like Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, and Carrie Underwood, on through favorites from Alabama, Brooks & Dunn, The Judds, Willie Nelson, and many more.
  • Country newcomer and “My Mistake” singer Cam is in the spotlight on Huffington Post in a write-up that includes a brief Q&A where Cam gives a nice shout-out to Zac Brown Band. Take a look, online here. Featuring “My Mistake” and three other new songs, Cam’s Welcome to Cam Country — EP released earlier this week and is available on iTunes.
  • Tyler Farr’s new album, Suffer in Peace, comes out April 28th, featuring his latest hit, “A Guy Walks into a Bar,” and while you can pre-order the album in a number of ways, if you’re just into a good old-fashioned autographed CD, Tyler tweeted today that there’s a limited quantity available at Walmart. Get ’em while they last!
