SETH ENNIS: Sung Back To In Vegas

audio

There are certain benchmarks for a performer–one of them is when your song gets known well enough that people sing it back to you in concert. Seth Ennis recently hit that mark. He remembers playing a show in Las Vegas where the fans were super excited and joined him in singing his single “Woke Up In Nashville.” Seth had always tried to imagine what that moment would’ve been like, but any preparation he did, went out the window and his emotions got the better of him. With every show he plays the lyrics of “Woke Up In Nashville” are coming back at him with greater frequency. Seth adds that “more and more people start to sing the song, and not just the chorus either, they’re singing the verses, which is even cooler.”

“The first time anybody ever sang one of my songs back to me…I played a show, it was a festival in Vegas, I was wondering ‘has it been out long enough? Does anybody in Vegas know this song? Is anybody going to sing it back?’ Cause I never had that before. Anyway, I started singing ‘Woke Up In Nashville’ and they were just like singing it so loud, singing it at the top of their lungs, and I tried to think about before that, what that moment would be like…I’m not a big crier at all, but I was totally like, getting marshmallow eyes. It was kind of overwhelming, and just all hit me at once. It’s cool to see more and more people start to sing the song, and not just the chorus either, they’re singing the verses, which is even cooler.”
