“Then there is guys like Vince Gill, my number one hero and he pushes me just to be a good person. The person he is, is incredible. Not only is he so talented, but he knows I’m his number one fan and I got the chance to meet him and he was super cool to me. I told him that he was my biggest influence as a kid growing up and he took me to breakfast like three times and was super cool to me. Let me ask him whatever and sat there and talked to me, some new artist that he didn’t have to do that. When I was on radio tour, and I was at a dinner and Vince Gill calls me and I see his name pop up on my phone and I never answer my phone at the table but I was like ‘y’all this is Vince Gill I’m so sorry.’ And so I had to go outside and take it and he was just like ‘hey buddy, just calling to check in on you, how are you doing? I know it’s tough out there.’ And I was like dude this is Vince Gill bro. It’s like he is just calling to check in on me and see how I am doing. That pushes me.”
