RYAN HURD: A Subconsciousness Melting Pot

Ryan Hurd grew up like all singers, having a bunch of different artists having different kinds of influences on what would become his style. Ryan rolled all them up, and now makes music like his debut song “Love In A Bar.” So, when he’s asked “who are you influences?” Ryan could mention that his dad introduced him to country music with Randy Travis‘ iconic number-one hit “Forever And Ever, Amen,” or that Alan Jackson‘s songs were a musical staple of his childhood, or that he thought Brad Paisley‘s “Celebrity” was a musical game changer, or that his all time favorite country artist is Willie Nelson…but Ryan thinks it’s actually more than just mentioning names. Ryan shares, “I think a lot of it is more subconsciousness than actually ‘I’m taking this from this artist, and I’m going to incorporate it into my music.’ It’s just like ‘I grew up in this melting pot of sounds, and words,’ and that’s what comes out at the other end.” That’s where you get “Love In A Bar”–which you can check the video out for at Ryan Hurd dot com, or just click right HERE

“That’s a question everybody gets asked, ‘who are your influences?’ But I don’t know…I think a lot of it is more subconsciousness than actually ‘I’m taking this from this artist, and I’m going to incorporate it into my music.’ It’s just like ‘I grew up in this melting pot of sounds, and words,’ and that’s what comes out at the other end.”
