Rachel Wammack: shares about her recent wedding and honeymoon (Audio)

Southern elegance was the theme when RCA Records Nashville’s Rachel Wammack wed Noah Purcell Saturday, Aug. 3, in an intimate ceremony officiated by Purcell’s father, Cliff Purcell in Wammack’s hometown of Muscle Shoals, AL. See People’s exclusive first look HERE.

Rachel Wammack: Tell us about your special day.

Our wedding day was absolutely amazing. We’ve both said, looking back, that the funniest thing was that all day went so slow because our wedding was at 6. And so, we were getting ready and like hanging out with all our people all day long. But, we didn’t see each other because we’d actually chosen not to do a first look and we’re so glad we did because I just felt like we really got to be with our people and it was just made like the jitters and made the excitement that much more awesome because we wanted to see each other.  It that much more of an awesome moment when I was actually walking down the aisle. But, it was just awesome getting to see, I mean, all of our people, our closest friends and our family all in the same room. And, that’ll never happen again. It’s a pretty special moment to have all the people that’ve mentored you and watched you grow up into the humans that you are, you know, that we are now together.

Rachel Wammack: Were you nervous?

You know, I wasn’t nervous really all day, until my Dad and I actually started walking down the aisle. And like I was smiling so hard ‘cause I was just so happy, but I was also just like tearing up because I think I was just like overwhelmed in the moment, like, ‘Oh my gosh. It’s finally happening.’  We’ve been waiting for it so long. And then, as soon as we turn the corner for us to walk down like the actual aisle, I saw Noah. And he’s crying just as much as I am, if not more. And it was just awesome. It was an awesome moment. And, you know, the whole wedding kind of was a blur. And everyone’s always said that, like that it goes by so fast, and it really did.

Rachel Wammack: Tell us about your honeymoon.

The honeymoon was amazing. Neither of us had ever been to Mexico and we just soaked up every single minute of it.  It was just our dream to be married to each other and it was awesome. The culture and the people in Cabo are so kind and just so, uh, generous. And, it was just beautiful. It was a dream. And so, we’re really excited for the future and we’re really looking forward to starting this life together and for our lives to intertwine more than they have ever. So, it’s going to be really, really exciting and I just feel like we’re the most excited and just ready for all this. So, it’s going to be awesome.
