Trevor Rosen on Winning CMA Vocal Group of the Year:
The CMA Vocal Group of the Year Award was, you know, it was the second year in a row we’ve won it. This year it really feels like it means that maybe it wasn’t a fluke putting together a streak like that. It was such a big deal, it was such a shock the first time it happened, but the second time it happens you go, “Ok, well maybe we belong here.” And it’s kind of a cool feeling to start to feel like we’re one of the artists that represent country music.

Matthew Ramsey on Performing “One Man Band” during the CMAs:
Performing “One Man Band” on the CMAs was actually a really great experience because, you know, those TV show performances can be sort of nerve-wracking, but this song is such that it’s such a big hit for us, we could actually hear people singing it. And that doesn’t always happen in an award show situation, it can be sort of, you know, an industry crowd, so you don’t necessarily hear everyone singing, but we could kind of hear people singing back to us, and it felt like a normal show to us all of a sudden. And then to have that super cool stage set with that empty theater with the old chandelier hanging, it just really set the right tone for that song, just kind of this grandeur that was once there, and this sort of lonely feeling, but also sort of sweet at the same time, which is kind of the sentiment of that song.

Acclaimed country band Old Dominion won Vocal Group of the Year at last week’s 53rd Annual CMA Awards at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. The award marks the band’s second consecutive win in this category!

Frontman Matthew Ramsey said upon accepting the award, “Any time anything good would happen to us, we would look at each other and say, ‘This was never going to work anyway.’ But tonight, when I look out and think of all the people that we have had that have supported us and believed in us and pushed us and loved us, we should have been saying ‘Of course we’re going to make it.’”

Last night, Old Dominion also performed their current single “One Man Band” on the CMA stage. The single is currently No. 3 at Country radio with more than 131 million streams. Click HERE to view!
