audio

Old Dominion is enjoying the success of their second hit song of off their debut album, Meat and Candy. “Snapback,” which was written by Matthew, Brad and Trevor from Old Dominion, is sitting in the top 3 on the song charts this week. Their first song off the album, “Break Up With Him”–which was written by all 5 guys in the band, went to number-one, and sometimes out on the Spread The Love tour, Kenny Chesney brings the guys out to sing his number-one song “Save It For A Rainy Day” which Brad and Matthew co-wrote with fellow song writer Andrew Dorff. All this song writing success, doesn’t surprise the guys…in fact, Trevor from Old Dominion says that the original reason the guys moved to Nashville was to “hone that craft”–and having that song writing skill has been nothing but a benefit to them as a band.

“We were songwriters first, and we really moved to Nashville to hone that craft, and we care a lot about that process, so havin’ the success as songwriters, I mean, we’re proud of that. And you know, it’s also helped the band, too. It’s helped sort of snowball things for us, so both things go hand in hand. It’s been exciting.”
