This Wednesday at the CMT Music Awards Old Dominion’s “Break Up With Him” video is nominated for Group/Duo Video Of The Year and Breakthrough Video Of The Year.

  Matthew from Old Dominion talks about shooting their music video for “Break up with Him.” (:28)
“It was tons of fun. I mean, it was such a long day. It was like, something like 18 hours. We had one day to shoot it in, so, we were in Atlanta, and the bus left the gig in Atlanta and showed up at the site of the video, and we walked off the bus into, like, wardrobe, and got dressed in all these crazy (laughs) characters, and then when we walked into that room where they had the set and everything, it was like, ‘Oh, wow. This is for real. This is happening right now.’ So, it was pretty overwhelming.”

  While on tour capturing some video footage, Trevor from Old Dominion says that the band and their video director came up with the concept for their “Break up with Him” music video. (:20)
“We just started talkin’ about Back to the Future and kinda riffin’ on that idea, and I think at some point we were like, ‘Well, what if that was our video?’ And we started talkin’ it out, and you know, how we could be the band in the dance, and it…so, it just over the course of the week just started as an idea on the bus, and by the end of the week I think we had hashed out a pretty good skeleton of what the video would be.”
