Nate Smith’s “Whiskey On You” is currently climbing the Country Radio charts. We’re asking for MAX SPINS starting this Sunday, January 22nd through Saturday, February 4th to help Nate Smith get his debut single to #1!
“Yeah, so when I was writing Whiskey On You at a friend’s lake house, we were putting it all together. And we ended up working for quite a few hours on the demo. And we had obviously like a portable mobile recording studio out there. So we laid all the guitars down, I sang the vocal there at the kitchen table. And everything just felt right. And we were super fired up that day. And then when I came back to Nashville, where we re-recorded, all that re-sang it, we replayed the drums, all that kind of stuff. And it felt good, but it didn’t feel the way that it did the day that we wrote it. There was something about that day. So we thought maybe maybe it was the drums. Maybe it was the guitar. So we tried adding in those those parts from the demo and just realized after a minute that the magic was in the demo. So we actually just mixed the demo so that the vocal that you’re hearing on the radio right now is actually my voice the day of writing the song. So sometimes that happens.“
