MORE GOOD STUFF…with Martina, Alan, Montgomery Gentry, Jake, Pat, and Kellie!
- Congratulations to the always fabulous Martina McBride, who will be honored this Saturday, December 13th, as the 2008 recipient of the Harmony Award, presented annually by the Nashville Symphony in recognition of individuals whose work has contributed to the development and appreciation of Nashville’s musical culture. She joins a distinguished list that includes such past recipients as Dolly Parton, Chet Atkins, Steve Winwood, and Vince Gill.
- In other Martina McBride news, fans are over the top about her new hit single, “Ride,” which is moving fast up the charts! It’s the first song from Martina’s upcoming album, arriving in the New Year. And…Martina is also on the radio and video airwaves with “Blue Christmas,” a song and amazing video pairing Martina with Elvis Presley in a duet of his classic holiday favorite. Look for the song on the hot new holiday disc, Elvis Presley Christmas Duets, and watch for the video — it’s on the air now at CMT and GAC.
- A big tip of the hat goes out to Montgomery Gentry, who this week notched the fifth number-one single of their career with their smash, “Roll with Me.” Eddie and Troy are now back-to-back with number-one singles, with “Roll with Me” hot on the heels of their last chart-topper and current album title track, “Back When I Knew It All.” The guys were just in New York today for a performance on CBS’ The Early Show, and be watching for them this Saturday, along with Kellie Pickler and other special guests, on an encore edition of GAC’s Opry Live (9pm, ET).
- Pat Green and Jake Owen fans are sure to be happy…and not just because these two men have great songs on the radio — Pat with “Let Me” and Jake with “Don’t Think I Can’t Love You” — but also because release dates have been set for new albums from both of them! Be sure to save a little Christmas gift-card money for the New Year, with Pat’s album, What I’m For, arriving on January 27th, while Jake’s new disc, Easy Does It, lands on February 24th. And if you can’t wait, don’t hesitate to check your favorite online retailer for the latest singles from Jake and Pat…both songs are available now!
- Brand new…and also at your favorite online music source is the music video for Alan Jackson‘s Top-10-and-climbing crowd-pleaser, “Country Boy.” Along with performance footage, the video features fan-created footage from the “Country Boy” video contest that invited fans to submit their best, homemade videos of themselves having fun in true “Country Boy” style. The song, by the way, is the third huge hit from Alan’s Good Time album, which also includes the number-one singles, “Small Town Southern Man” and “Good Time.”
