MORE GOOD STUFF…with Carrie, Kellie, Brad, Kenny, Crystal, and Connery…Sean Connery

  • Congratulations to Carrie Underwood, who just earned RIAA Gold Digital Single certifications for her number-one hits “Last Name” and “Just a Dream”! The certifications each represent sales of 500,000 singles! They join “So Small” as the second and third Gold Digital Singles from Carrie’s ACM Album of the Year nominee, Carnival Ride, which also includes the chart-topping “All-American Girl,” as well as Carrie’s current smash, “I Told You So.”
  • For all the millions who’ve watched and wished you could have a voice in the big award shows, you’ve got your chance once again this year as the Academy of Country Music opened fan voting this past Monday for ACM Entertainer of the Year! Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, and Carrie Underwood are among the nominees, with voting taking place online now at voteACM.com or cbs.com/acma. Fans can cast their ballots through the last hour of The 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, airing live from Las Vegas on April 5th, at 8pm, ET (tape delayed PT), on CBS Television.
  • And be rooting for fabulous newcomer Crystal Shawanda as the Juno Awards (Canada’s equivalent of the GRAMMY Awards) are held on March 29th! Crystal is up for Best New Artist and Country Recording of the Year for her debut album, Dawn of a New Day, which features her poignant hit, “You Can Let Go.”
  • Kellie Pickler will join an array of celebrities from the worlds of sports, entertainment, and more — among them All My Children star Susan Lucci, Donald Trump, actor Brendan Fraser, actress Andie MacDowell, Broadway star Brian d’Arcy James, New York Giant Lawrence Tynes, and many others, including event hosts Sir Sean and Lady Connery — for “Dressed to Kilt 2009.” The annual celebration of Scottish fashion and tradition will feature a kilt-clad-Kellie among the celebrities modeling designs from fashion houses here and abroad and from many of Scotland’s hottest young designers. The March 30th event in New York will benefit the Paralyzed Veterans of America and its Scottish counterpart, the Erskine Hospital of Scotland. Tickets and complete information are available at dressedtokilt.com.
