- Nominees were announced this past week for The 35th Annual People’s Choice Awards, and country music made an impressive showing, with two of the three nominees for Favorite Male Singer being country artists — Kenny Chesney and Brad Paisley — while Carrie Underwood is vying for Favorite Female Singer with Alicia Keys and Rihanna. Carrie also scored nominations for Favorite Country Song (for her number-one hit, “Last Name”) and as Favorite Star 35 & Under, where she’s competing against a galaxy of performers from music, TV, and movies. The winners will be selected by you — the fans — with voting underway now at pcavote.com.
- And speaking of awards…CMA show co-hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood were among the big winners at this week’s awards, with Brad named Male Vocalist of the Year for the second year running, and also taking home Video of the Year for “Waitin’ on a Woman.” Carrie claimed her third consecutive Female Vocalist title, while Kenny Chesney took home the night’s top prize, Entertainer of the Year.
