  • Alan Jackson continues going strong this week, with his blockbuster hit, “Good Time,” holding down the number-one spot at country radio for a second week! The song is the title track and second chart-topper from his latest album, which also features the smash, “Small Town Southern Man.”
  • Tune-in this Saturday, July 26, as GAC premieres the latest installment of CMA Celebrity Close Up (9pm, ET). Sara Evans and Jake Owen will be among the guests in the Lorianne Crook-hosted special, taped at the Ryman Auditorium during this summer’s CMA Music Festival.
  • Watch for a profile on American Idol finalist and new country recording artist Kristy Lee Cook on this Saturday’s edition of CMT Insider (1pm, ET). Kristy Lee is currently on the road with the American Idols Live! Tour 2008 and working between dates on her upcoming album. The first single, “15 Minutes of Shame,” officially hits country radio on August 11!
  • Based on Billboard Boxscore concert information, USA Today recently did their own analysis of artists reporting 10 or more domestic shows from March through May of this year and found that Kenny Chesney was the top U.S. draw this spring — with average attendance of 20,610 people per show — outdistancing such other mega-stars as Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, and The Police.
