MORE GOOD STUFF…with Alan, Carrie, and Gwyneth!

  • Congratulations to Alan Jackson, who this Tuesday, September 14th, will be honored with the ASCAP Founders Award as part of the 48th annual ASCAP Country Music Awards. It’s among the most prestigious honors offered by ASCAP, recognizing pioneering artists whose music has influenced generations to follow. Other honorees have included such talents as Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, and others…so Alan is in great company! In other Alan news, he’s just announced the fall leg of his 2010 tour — with special guests Chris Young and The Band Perry — with a run of dates in November. Check out alanjackson.com for all the details!
  • And speaking of Alan Jackson…have you heard about his upcoming album? It’s the perfect gift and a must-have for any Alan fan! Releasing November 23rd, the double-disc 34 Number Ones album has every one of Alan’s number-one hits — including songs like “Don’t Rock the Jukebox,” “Gone Country,” “Right on the Money,” and, well…31 more! The collection actually includes 37 songs in all, including Alan’s never-before-released recording of the classic Johnny Cash hit “Ring of Fire,” plus the beautiful song, “Look at Me” (previously available on the movie soundtrack to Billy: The Early Years), and the new smash single, “As She’s Walking Away,” with Zac Brown Band featuring Alan. You don’t want to miss 34 Number Ones when it hits your favorite music store on November 23rd!
  • Congratulations to Carrie Underwood, whose “Undo It” video recently set the record for the most total weeks at number-one on CMT’s Top 20 Countdown! With 12 cumulative weeks at the top of the video chart, Carrie is now the all-time video champ!  Way to go, Carrie!
  • Gwyneth Paltrow sounds amazing singing “Country Strong,” the first single from the upcoming feature film of the same name, and you can now see a preview of the movie, which hits select theatres in late December. Check out the trailer online at http://www.theboot.com/2010/09/09/country-strong-movie-trailer-preview/. The soundtrack will be available October 26th, and you can pre-order your copy now at Amazon.com!
