MORE GOOD STUFF…with a Host of Your Favorites!

  • A “greatest hits” album is always a cool milestone for any artist, and when it’s time for a second one, you must be a talent as big as Kenny Chesney, who’s racked up enough crowd-pleasers that May 19th will mark the release date for his Greatest Hits 2! In addition to smash singles like “Summertime,” “Anything but Mine,” “The Good Stuff,” and much more, the album will include Kenny’s next single, the way-cool “Out Last Night.”
  • Speaking of Kenny Chesney, a tip of the hat to Kenny and Carrie Underwood, who were recently voted Entertainer of the Year and Female Performer of the Year, respectively, by the readers of industry trade publication, Radio & Records. It’s the third consecutive win for both!
  • Huge congratulations to Jake Owen, who was officially announced this past Friday as the winner of the Academy of Country Music’s fan-voted Top New Male Vocalist award! Jake now moves on to compete with the Top New Female Vocalist and Top New Vocal Duo or Group winners in the overall Top New Artist category! Fan voting for the Top New Artist begins March 16th at VoteACM.com and continues right up until the start of The 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards at 8pm, ET, April 5th, on CBS!
  • And continuing a theme…be sure to tune-in as the gorgeous Sara Evans hosts the GAC special, ACM Top New Artists, with performances and trophy presentatons to all of this year’s “Top New” category winners…including Jake! The show premieres March 19th at 10pm, ET, on GAC.
  • By the way, did we mention Jake Owen? Be sure to check out the feature on Jake in the new Country Weekly, where, among other things, he says that his new album “is more personal” than his first, adding, “There is an introspective side that comes out that people haven’t seen.” Check out the full article in the March 23rd edition of Country Weekly, on sale March 16th! And you can hear what he means when you pick up a copy of Jake’s new album, Easy Does It, on sale right now! It features his Top-10-and-climbing smash, “Don’t Think I Can’t Love You.”
  • Jason Michael Carroll‘s second album has been announced for release on April 28th! Titled Growing Up Is Getting Old, the new album will feature three songs that Jason Michael co-wrote. He’s on the radio now with the disc’s first single, the great-sounding “Where I’m From.”
  • The sensational Miranda Lambert is among the first artists recently announced as performers on the ACM Awards telecast on April 5th. Miranda is up for two honors, including Top Female Vocalist and Single Record of the Year for “Gunpowder & Lead” — just one of the great hits from the disc that won last year’s ACM Album of the Year trophy, Miranda’s crazy-good Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
  • Fire-up your DVR, TiVo, or break out the old VHS, but whatever you do, don’t miss the American Idol episode this coming Wednesday (March 18th) with a performance from Brad Paisley — making the TV debut of his new single, “Then” — and Carrie Underwood and Randy Travis take the stage to sing a duet of “I Told You So.” Carrie’s solo recording of the song is from her blockbuster Carnival Ride album, but a new recording featuring Carrie and Randy will be available as a digital single at your favorite online music store…just in time for Wednesday’s show! And…you can also pick up the digital single for “Then” — it’s the first single from Brad’s upcoming album, American Saturday Night.
