MORE GOOD STUFF…to Make a Mother Smile!

  • Good guy Brad Paisley will be donating all artist royalties from U.S. sales of the digital single for his current smash, “Old Alabama,” for tornado relief via the American Red Cross. The song is the second big hit from Brad’s upcoming May 23rd album release, titled This Is Country Music
  • If you’re looking for a last-minute gift for Mom, music is always a great way to go, and all this month, Amazon.com will be offering the mp3 album of Chris Young‘s The Man I Want to Be for only five bucks! With three number-one hits, including “Voices” (and how many times have you heard your mom’s voice helping you along?) and “The Man I Want to Be” (and don’t you want Mom to think that you “want to be a good man, a do-like-I-should man”), it’s a great way to go! • The May 9th issue of Country Weekly — on sale now — includes a Mother’s Day celebration of stars offering thoughts about their moms, and Josh Thompson‘s fondest memory of being around his mom is that she was always singing songs from the great Patsy Cline. “When I hear a Patsy song today,” Josh shares, “it takes me back to sitting in the kitchen and listening to my mom sing.” Of course, now Josh’s mom gets to hear him singing songs like “Won’t Be Lonely Long,” the latest favorite from his debut album, Way Out Here.
