  • Congratulations to all of this year’s CMA Awards final nominees, announced on Tuesday! Always a who’s-who of favorite artists and music, Chris Young and Miranda Lambert are among those whose names were called, with Chris vying for New Artist of the Year, while reigning Female Vocalist of the Year winner Miranda is up once again in the Female category, as well as Musical Event of the Year for “Coal Miner’s Daughter” with Loretta Lynn and Sheryl Crow. Responding to his nomination, Chris tweeted on Tuesday, “Literally got woken up by my phone ringing. Not a morning person. But then I found out I’m nominated for CMA New Artist. So I was ok with it,” adding in a subsequent tweet, “Thanks so much CMA’s! Awesome day.” Miranda also responded with a tweet, as she cheered, “Yay!!!! Nom’s Female and collaboration with 2 of my heroes!!!! Thanks CMA’s. And congrats to my hubby for dominating!!!!:)” — a reference of course to Blake Shelton tying Taylor Swift, Jason Aldean, and reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year Brad Paisley as this year’s most-nominated artists, each pulling in five nominations. Catch all the excitement as Brad and Carrie Underwood (herself a Female Vocalist nominee!) co-host The 45th Annual CMA Awards, live from Nashville, November 9th, on ABC.
  • And speaking of CMA Awards’ nominee Chris Young, don’t miss him when he performs on the Monday, September 12th, episode of The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson! Catch it on CBS at 11:35pm, CT/12:35am, ET.
  • The always fabulous Sara Evans is another of this year’s CMA Awards nominees, in the running for Female Vocalist of the Year as well as Single of the Year for her number-one blockbuster, “A Little Bit Stronger.” Earlier today, Sara responded to her nominations, saying, “I am thrilled beyond words to be nominated for ‘Female Vocalist’ and ‘Single of the Year.’ After taking a little break, to come back and have the kind of year that I’ve had is amazing!! I’m so grateful and blessed and happy! I’m so thankful to God!” Sara is currently on the airwaves with “My Heart Can’t Tell You No,” the latest hit from her Stronger album.
  • Next week Thursday, September 15th, Ronnie Dunn will be in the Windy City as Chicago hosts the NAB Marconi Awards Dinner & Show. Ronnie will perform at the show, which is produced by the National Association of Broadcasters and the Radio Advertising Bureau. First established in 1989 and named for inventor and Nobel Prize winner Guglielmo Marconi, the awards recognize excellence in radio. And speaking of excellence in radio (how’s that for a nifty segue?), Ronnie is on the radio these days with his poignant hit, “Cost of Livin’,” the latest single from his solo debut album, titled Ronnie Dunn.
