MIRANDA LAMBERT: The Year’s Best

Miranda Lambert was among the terrific talents honored on this past weekend’s 2012 CMT Artists of the Year special…and Miranda says that being recognized like this is always a really special feeling because it’s a kind of affirmation that all her work — whether it’s on stage or behind the scenes — is really being appreciated. • And huge congratulations to Miranda, who was a triple-winner at Monday’s American Country Awards, where she took home honors for Single of the Year: Female, Music Video of the Year: Female, and Most Played Radio Track: Female, all for her gorgeous number-one single, “Over You.”
  • For the music fans in your life this holiday season, check out Miranda’s Four the Record album — recently nominated for a GRAMMY® Award for Best Country Album. Among other great songs, Four the Record is home to Miranda’s hits “Baggage Claim,” “Over You,” and her latest smash, “Fastest Girl in Town.”
  • And if you missed Miranda on her husband’s recent holiday TV special, Blake Shelton’s Not So Family Christmas, you can catch the star-studded fun when it re-airs this Friday at 8pm, ET, on NBC.
  • When we caught up with Miranda recently, we thought we’d look ahead a bit, and we asked her what’s on the MIranda Lambert 2013 “Things to Do” list. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

“It’s awesome, CMT Artists of the Year — I guess all of these things that you get nominated for or bein’ celebrated for, it’s just…you know, you work your butt off all year long and, you know, write songs and tour and plan your next year, and I work with the Pistol Annies, and it’s just like you put your nose to the grindstone, and the stress and all that pays off when you know that people are enjoyin’ it and celebratin’ you for it. It really feels good.”

“2013 I plan on touring. I’m tourin’ with Dierks Bentley, and I just wanna keep writin’ songs and get ready for my own record, and Pistol Annies will be releasin’ a new album in 2013, and the ol’ standby: lose 10 pounds.” (laughs)
