MIRANDA LAMBERT: Shhhh…

On Tuesday, it was announced that Miranda Lambert will remain on vocal rest for another week, under doctor’s orders, resulting in the postponement of her shows this weekend. For any singer, especially a tour headliner who’s as active and dynamic as Miranda, being on vocal rest can be a real challenge, but she tells us she’s coming through like a trooper. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

  • With this week’s news, Miranda wrote in a statement, “I’m so sorry to disappoint the fans that have already bought tickets to see me. I’m taking care of my voice and I can’t wait to get on the road again and bring you a hell of a show.” This weekend’s shows in Orange Beach, Alabama; Atlanta, Georgia; and Pelham, Alabama, are rescheduled for October 4th, 5th, and 6th, respectively.
  • Meanwhile, Miranda may be keeping mum, but you can still enjoy her music on the radio, including her new single, “Fastest Girl in Town” — it’s from Miranda’s ACM-winning Album of the Year, Four the Record.
  • And while savvy observers had already picked up on the news, Miranda’s upcoming music video for “Fastest Girl in Town” will feature NASCAR’s Danica Patrick, as well as actor W. Earl Brown, co-star of HBO’s Deadwood and the upcoming feature film, The Lone Ranger. In a press release today, Miranda said of her guest stars: “Danica was the person I thought of immediately when I envisioned the video,” while “Earl is a true character, and he brings so much charisma and authenticity to his scenes.” About Danica, Miranda laughed, “We had so much fun playing two bad-ass chicks up to no good.” The video is also Miranda’s first without any vocal performance scenes, and she says, “I really get to act in the video. We have live sound and action scenes which feel more like a mini-movie than a music video.”
