Miranda Lambert just had the biggest hit of her career so far with the rockin’, take-no-prisoners energy of “Gunpowder & Lead,” but her new single really lets fans hear her more vulnerable side on the gorgeous ballad, “More Like Her.” It’s a song that Miranda wrote…and one that she questioned whether to include on her album. Her first thought was “I don’t know if I should put this on there because I don’t want to open myself up this much,” but Miranda leaned in favor of her fans when she decided, “It’s my favorite one to listen to, of my own, and so that makes me think, ‘Well, it might be somebody else’s favorite, too.'” “More Like Her” — along with “Gunpowder & Lead” and “Famous in a Small Town” — are all from Miranda’s ACM Award-winning Album of the Year, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Miranda Lambert talks about her new single, “More Like Her.” (:22)
“It’s a really personal song, and I mean, I think people have gone through the same things. But you don’t want to necessarily say the things in the song that I actually just went ahead and wrote. But you know, and that’s one that I was like, ‘I don’t know if I should put this on there because I don’t want to open myself up this much,’ but then again, you know, it’s my favorite one to listen to, of my own, and so that makes me think, ‘Well, it might be somebody else’s favorite, too.'”
