  • Did you hear…? On Thursday, Miranda revealed live on Ryan Seacrest’s On Air program that she wrote and recorded a song called “Two of a Crime” for the upcoming comedy film, Hot Pursuit, starring Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara. And it was Reese who asked Miranda to do it! She also asked for a song with a “Southern and a Latin flavor.” In a press release, Miranda said, “Reese texted me and told me about the movie and wanted me to write something or sing or both. I got inspired. I love Reese and Sofia. It was a bit of a Thelma and Louise theme and that’s totally up my alley. It is really so fun to be part of it. It was the first time I wrote a song specifically for a movie, so it was a different experience for me.” You can listen to the Ryan Seacrest interview on this page of RyanSeacrest.com.
  • Miranda wrote “Two of a Crime” with her frequent co-writers Natalie Hemby and Nicolle Galyon; among other songs, the three wrote Miranda’s smash single, “Automatic.”
  • Miranda’s recording of “Two of a Crime” will be out April 28th on iTunes, while the film Hot Pursuit is due to hit theatres on May 8th.

audio  Miranda Lambert says that life experience helps make for good songwriting. (:22)
“I think I know myself way better than I did 10 years ago. But I think in 10 years, I’ll say, ‘Gosh, I know know myself way better than I did 10 years ago!’ You know? You just learn so much about who you are, and life experience does that for you. But the unknown is also what makes for good stories and songwriting and for more experiences to come that teach you lessons.”
