MIRANDA LAMBERT: In the Hall of Fame…and on to the Billboard Awards!

audio

Miranda Lambert is being celebrated in a very special way beginning this Friday, May 16th, with the opening of the Miranda Lambert: Backstage Access exhibit at Nashville’s Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum. The all-new exhibit takes a snapshot of Miranda’s career in 2013, including stage costumes, awards, and much more, with Miranda’s own tweets through the year helping to tell the story. With the exhibit opening Friday and continuing through November 9th, Miranda says that it’s an amazing feeling to be a part of the Hall of Fame — if only for a little while! (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

  • About the exhibit, Miranda said, “The Country Music Hall of Fame is a place to cherish what country music is all about, and I’m so honored to have an exhibit in this treasured hall.”

“It’s just crazy that a little girl or a little boy who wants to sing will come here with his family and visit the Hall of Fame, and I’ll be one of the exhibits there. They’ll see my road cases and my corsets and guitars on display, and it’s like, ‘I’ll be in here one day,’ and…just like I thought when I was little, and there I am already. I mean, just for a time, but still, I can say I’ve been in the Hall of Fame now!” (laughs)

It’s a big weekend for music fans with this Sunday’s airing of the 2014 Billboard Music Awards, and one highlight of the show is sure to be when Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood take the stage to sing their duet, a song called “Somethin’ Bad,” featured on Miranda’s upcoming June 3rd album, titled Platinum. Earlier this week, Miranda said that she’s really looking forward to the performance for a number of reasons, but not without a few nerves! (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

“I will be really nervous to sing with Carrie. It’ll be the first time we sing it live together, so…that’s the fun part, though. That’s kind of why you want to do it in the first place is to sing it live. I mean, it’s fun to sing it in the studio and all that stuff with her, but definitely singin’ with someone as powerful as she is pushes you as a vocalist, you know? She’s a…she’s a hoss, and so, I’m nervous, but I’m excited, and I’m excited for people to see two female country artists up there on stage together. You know, that doesn’t happen that often — or not often enough, in my opinion — and so we’re just gonna go rock it.”
