Miranda Lambert recently spent four weeks at number-one on the radio with her gorgeous hit, “The House That Built Me,” but when it comes to Miranda’s “house,” she admits that her love for animals has left her maxed out on the amount of quality time that she can give to her very special extended family. But Miranda says that’s okay, because rather than adopting more animals, she’ll focus more on helping strays and shelter animals find a good home somewhere else. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

• Miranda recently picked up a second nomination for the upcoming teen-voted awards, TEEN CHOICE 2010. After earning a nod in the category of Choice Music: Female Country Artist last month, the show has announced new categories, with “The House That Built Me” nominated for Choice Music: Country Song. Katy Perry will host the show, set to air on August 9th, on FOX. Fans aged 13 to 19 can vote for their favorites once a day online at teenchoiceawards.com.

“I really am done, though, ’cause it’s…I have six dogs now, and they’re all rescues. And Cher was the last one, and then right before her, we got Steve, which is Blake’s dog that he found on his land, and I don’t know why his name is Steve…’cause of Blake named him, that’s why. (laughs) But it’s just like, we have enough. Like, we…I want to make sure that I can give love to everything I have, and if I get any more, I won’t be able to spread out my…I mean, my whole life will be taken up with animals, which it already is, so…but, you know, I feel like that’s good, ’cause now I can start to really focus on if I find one on the side of the road or go to a shelter, help find it for somebody else. You know, I’m always askin’ people if they want a dog. So if I run across one, I’m really lucky at finding, knock on wood, I’m really lucky at finding strays, too — I get the best ones.”

“I have four horses. Lucky Star, he’s a rescue — we found him eatin’ out of Blake’s deer feeder on his land — random, but now he’s doin’ good. He’s old as the hills, but he’s hangin’ out, and he’s good now. He’s gained about 30 pounds, which is awesome. Then we have Miss Emily and Sunny Jim and Zeus Troubadour — that’s the big horses. The little horses are Sugar Pie and — it’s after ‘Sugar Pie Honey Bun’ — and Annie and Adriana — those are the minis. Then we have the two potbelly pigs which are Amos and Gideon. And then we have the chickens: they’re just called Ain’t Nobody Here But Us Chickens as a whole, ’cause, you know, chickens come and go, and I don’t want to name ’em. And then we have six dogs. We have Jessie and Waylon, Delilah and Delta, Steve and Cher. And we have three cats: Maxine, Suzy Q, and Shelley. And that’s it. That’s a lot.” (laughs)
