The incredible Miranda Lambert is ready to unleash a new album! It’s the exciting follow-up to her ACM Album of the Year winner, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and the anticipation is sky-high for Tuesday’s release of Revolution. It’s packed with 15 songs — and Miranda had a hand in writing 11 of them — so one thing fans can count on hearing is more of what Miranda is all about. “I don’t have anything to hide, and I want people to know who I am,” she says. “All the artists I love are the ones that bare their souls, so why would I stray away from that?” (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

Miranda tells us that the record wasn’t made piecemeal over a long period of time, but that she went in and recorded it in a week…and the way she chose to record the album says a lot about how she sees Revolution — not as a series of songs, but truly as a singular body of work. “Every song matters…it’s part of a picture, and if one’s missing, the picture’s not complete.” And while fans can always buy individual songs digitally, Miranda says she’s very proud of Revolution and really hopes that everyone will choose to enjoy the album as a whole. “I feel like if people just buy one song off this album, they’re not gonna understand what it’s about and who I am because I really found myself creatively and just opened up artistically.” (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

With her mom and dad in the audience, Miranda tore up the house with new music, hits like “Gunpowder & Lead” and “More Like Her,” and even an intimate “intermission” for a selection of classics including Miranda-hero Merle Haggard‘s “The Way I Am” and a killer version of Patsy Cline‘s “Crazy” that earned a standing ovation.

“Country music is about real life, and I’ve always said that. And all the artists I love are the ones that bare their souls, so why would I stray away from that? I mean, it is a little bit scary, but my fans I know want to know me and want to know where I’m comin’ from and want to be able to relate to me and me to them, so just bein’ honest is just what I’ve decided that is right for my music and for me, ’cause I don’t have anything to hide, and I want people to know who I am.”

“We made it like a record. I mean, we went in for a week and cut an album. We didn’t go in for a day and cut a single or an album track or just a random song to stick somewhere at number seven. And I feel like if people just buy one song off this album, they’re not gonna understand what it’s about and who I am because I really found myself creatively and just opened up artistically. And I feel like it’s not fair to the record to buy one song because they all need to be heard.”

“I think you can expect a lot of the same Miranda qualities that you, you know, bought the record for in the first…the other two records for. I think that it’s definitely…this record has a lot of classic Miranda, but also, like, a little more diversity than maybe the other two as far as what the lyrics are about in each song and how there’s songs, not so much just about love as there was on the last two records, but songs about a lot of different things.”
