MIRANDA LAMBERT: A Great Foundation for This House

Miranda Lambert was a writer on 11 of the songs on her latest album, Revolution, including her first number-one hit, “White Liar,” so when someone like Miranda wants to sing your song, and sing your praises as a songwriter, that really says something about how great a song you’ve written. So it stands to reason that tunesmiths Tom Douglas and Allen Shamblin must be feeling pretty incredible these days, because not only is their song, “The House That Built Me,” Miranda’s latest single — and the fastest Top 20 of her career — but it’s also a song that she says is “one of the most amazing, timeless lyrics I’ve ever heard.” (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

“It’s one of the most amazing, timeless lyrics I’ve ever heard. And I’m just, I’m just fortunate. I’m just the artist that happened to hear it first and grab it, because I know anybody that would have heard it would have taken it. And it’s one of those songs that’s gonna be…it’s gonna make history. You know, definitely.”
