“Every day is a new surprise for me and my parents…because they don’t live here, and I have to do my Sunday faced times with them and also fill them in throughout the week about new things that are going on. But they are just probably, besides me, probably even more than me they are the most excited people on the planet for my album to come out, and you know it’s always sort of felt like a family project even though my my family’s not particularly musical…I’m the only one that performs, but my dad was my manager at one point in Texas. My family would drive me around the state, and so it feels really full circle that I’m getting to release on a major label a record that I love and they just could not be more proud.”
