LUKE COMBS: Stickin’ To The Conference

audio

Luke Combs has a simple way of picking a team to root for in this year’s Super Bowl, even if that team is a major rival of his own favorite football team. Luke is a huge Carolina Panthers fan, and while the Atlanta Falcons are in the same division he’s still going to pull for them this Sunday when they play the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 51. Luke says “it’s kinda like when people pull for the Big 10 or the SEC. Just stickin’ in the conference I guess, so I guess I’m going Falcons.” Plus he might still be stinging from when The Patriots beat the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 38…in Houston.

“Well, it’s tough for me because I’m a Panthers fan, so last year was a pretty brutal Super Bowl for me and if you follow Panthers history, we lost a Super Bowl to the New England Patriots a number of years ago, which is no surprise, I guess. Nowadays, that’s kinda standard. I think there are more teams that have lost a Super Bowl to the Patriots than have even been in the Super Bowl. I would say that I guess I got to pull for the Falcons. They are like our biggest rival in the NFC South but at least pull for the NFC South. It’s kinda like when people pull for the Big 10 or the SEC. Just stickin’ in the conference I guess, so I guess I’m going Falcons.”

Super thanks to Dan Van of ALBRIGHT & O’MALLEY & BRENNER for always being on his game and sending this to us.
