Combs on Staying Sane This Year During Pandemic
I think it’s just been a lot of writing songs, done a lot of that. Doing little projects in and around the house has been really nice, just really kind of having the time and the freedom to do some of the things that normally I wouldn’t have gotten to do this year. Obviously I had the opportunity to get married this year, which was really amazing, I am very thankful for the extra time that me and Nicole have had together. It hasn’t been too bad for me, and I feel a little bit guilty about that because I know there are people that are struggling and having a really tough time with this. Whether that be financially or from a mental health standpoint, so I am very grateful and thankful to be in a position to relax a little bit, but it’s hard to know that there are a lot of people that are struggling in this time as well.

Yeah I actually feel like I am pretty great at it actually. The way I kind of operate now is I’ll book two weeks of – we’ll either go to the mountains or to the beach or somewhere, and I’ll just bring out people that I want to write with to that location, and then focus on nothing but writing songs for two weeks straight. We try to get a song a day, sometimes we don’t get a song, sometimes we get two songs. Whatever that is, I try not to force it. I’m not the guy that always has a guitar around, picking it up and messing around with it, I’m not like a stream of consciousness songwriter. It really is like, we’re here to write, and I’m always collecting ideas for songs, so I guess I am in a way doing that. I’m never just in the house just running to get a guitar and doing it like that. That’s just not – I feel like I would probably go crazy if I was just doing that all the time.
