LANco: Long Live Baseball

audio

The nation is glued to their TVs, divided about who they want to win. Each side has a great case for why their choice should be victorious! Of course, we’re talking about the World Series! What? Is there something else happening where people are picking sides? Well, Jared Hampton of LANco is set with the team he’s pulling for, while band mate Brandon Lancaster is just hoping for a good series. Jared is normally a Braves fan, but now he’s pulling for Chicago this post season. He’s rooting for the Cubs because it’s been so long since they won a World Series, plus as Jared puts it, “also Bill Murray is there, so that’s awesome.” Now, LANco lead singer Brandon thinks that it’s great that both Cleveland and Chicago are in the Series, he’s one that normally roots for the underdog, and in some ways this is the ultimate underdog series. So he’s going to be paying attention no matter who wins, and will be happy to see either team break their streak of not winning.

Jared: “I do like the cubs. I’m a braves fan ultimately but we’re going through a rebuilding year literally and figuratively. We actually built a new stadium.”
Brandon: “That’s kind of cool.”
Jared: “But no I think it’s really cool the Cubs you know they haven’t been in this situation in a long time and its really, it’s almost you want to cheer for them you know they got an underdog thing going and you just kind of have to do it. It’s also just so exciting to watch when a team that has not won in such a long time to come back and you can just feel it. Like we were watching last night and you can feel the energy and electricity in that stadium. And also Bill Murray is there, so that’s awesome.”

audio  Brandon Lancaster is going to be happy no matter who wins the World Series. (:32)
“I grew up in Tennessee. We don’t have a professional baseball team so my default would definitely be the Braves but this is a really cool World Series cause its two teams that haven’t been in it or haven’t won for a long time. Like Cubs are like 1908. I think Indians are 1948 or something like that. So either way I’m a big underdog guy so either way I think I’m going to be happy with the result. I do think you know Cubs are even more of an underdog so they’ve been like I don’t think TV was invented last time they won a world series, so it be cool to see them win but either way I’m going to be paying real close attention to it.”
