When you’re trying to make it in music, sometimes the littlest piece of advice can help you make it through the tough times. Now as LANCO is starting to make it thanks to songs like their hit “Greatest Love Story” the advice from drummer Tripp Howell‘s dad helped him along the way. Tripp says his dad once told him, “‘it’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog.'” Tripp admits that saying really hit home for him, “with this career, that’s been held pretty true. We want it really bad, and we’re working hard for it and are not going to stop.” With a nice heartwarming moment like that, LANCO’s lead singer Brandon Lancaster shared the advice his dad gave him, “My Dad always said ‘don’t pursue music, and there’s no way it’s going to happen’ (LANCO members laugh) ‘so I’ll pay for you to go to business school’. (laughs)” Good thing they listened to Tripp’s dad.
