KENNY CHESNEY: You Want To Be Where You Can See, Our Troubles Are All The Same

audio

Kenny Chesney‘s latest hit song “Bar At The End Of The World” is about escapism, and the affects if can have on you.  It’s easy to get wrapped up in the day to day activities we call life, but Kenny’s here to tell you…there’s something else…the far out places in the world. He believes that “Once you do get out of yourself a little bit, you start to feel things that you haven’t felt in a while.” Whether his daily routine, or yours, Kenny thinks that the thought of escaping is “a really common emotion that we all feel.” When Kenny thinks of getting away, the place he always finds himself thinking of going to is a “Bar At The End Of The World.” And he’s betting you’re thinking of that too.

audio  Kenny Chesney discusses the escapism elements of his song “Bar At The End Of The World.” (:65)
“Once you do get out of yourself a little bit, you start to feel things that you haven’t felt in a while. You start to feel, and I think that sometimes you do have to get out of your everyday mundane existence no matter what that is. Look there is nothing more mundane than sitting on a bus all day. Now two hours of the night we get to have a blast, but all these years of being on the road being on a bus and walking backstage, I think people would be surprised. Those who hadn’t been in that environment it’s going to be exciting to them. But those who’ve been out here for all these years…there is a mundane existence sometimes seeing everybody in the hallways…So you want to escape that too. It’s just like walking down the hall in the office. Or it’s like seeing people you see every day. So I think that’s a really common emotion that we all feel. And where do we go when we want to get out of that mundane existence? For me, and I believe a lot of my fan base and a lot of people in No Shoes Nation, if we would close our eyes and transport ourselves to any bar at the end of the world, that would be a good spot to sit in.”
