KENNY CHESNEY: Wild Child Full Of Grace

audio

Kenny Chesney is all over the place with his new single “Noise,” but this Sunday he’ll be rooting for his song “Wild Child” to take home the Vocal Event of the Year award at the ACMs. Kenny is nominated with Grace Potter–who he was also nominated with in the same category back in 2011 for “You and Tequila.” Kenny thinks Grace brought more than just her voice to “Wild Child,” she brought a certain feel too, because as Kenny says “she’s a lot like that character we wrote about in this song.” You can check out if Kenny and Grace win when the 51st Academy Of Country Music Awards, broadcasting live from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, airs Sunday, April 3 on the CBS Television Network.

audio  Kenny Chesney talks about having Grace Potter on their ACM nominated song, “Wild Child.” (:33)
“Grace’s voice was just perfect on this song, and I’m really proud that she’s on it. And it’s so authentic that she’s on it because she’s a lot like that character we wrote about in this song, I feel like. And just the way our voices blend, it’s hard for me to explain how that happens, you know, because we grew up in completely different places, but I think our voices blend really well together, and I think ‘Wild Child’ is a perfect example of that. And a lot of the women out there that are listening, you know, I think that there’s something they’re gonna be able to take out of this song and apply to their life. They might find a little bit of themselves in this song, maybe.”
