KENNY CHESNEY: The Tour Begins!

audio

Kenny Chesney launches his new tour, The Big Revival Tour, this Thursday, with back-to-back nights at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. And for Kenny, after taking a break from touring last year, the occasion has been a long time coming, but it’s one that was at the heart of Kenny’s thinking when he was making his latest album, The Big Revival. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

  • Party Time! Happy birthday to Kenny, who’ll be celebrating his March 26th birthday playing the opening night of his tour!
  • Kenny’s new tour is packing state-of-the-art video, lighting, and sound — some of which has never been used on a U.S. tour — but while the experience of the show is huge in Kenny’s mind, he also says that, at the end of the day, it’s about the music: “Every time, I want people to have the best night of their lives. I take that very seriously. I’ve heard enough stories about people planning their summer about coming to see us, and when you know that, you wanna always give ’em more and better, trying to think what else? But, you know, these songs are the reason people come – and I don’t ever want to take away from the music.”
  • Kenny talked about the new tour in a feature this week in Nashville’s Tennessean, online here.
  • Check out Kenny in the cover feature of the latest Country Weekly, on sale now!
  • Even before opening night, Kenny’s The Big Revival Tour has already sold more than a million tickets! Look for a show near you on the tour page of KennyChesney.com!
  • After back-to-back number-one singles with “Til It’s Gone” and “American Kids,” Kenny’s on the radio now with “Wild Child,” featuring Grace Potter, the third big hit from Kenny’s album, The Big Revival.

“This album was made for the intent of doing these songs live, and I’m proud of that. And I’m proud that was a calculated choice. It’s the newness that you get to feel with new music and the connection with the audience, and them not feeling like that ‘okay, this is somethin’ we’ve seen last year and the year before. And we don’t necessarily want to miss it this year, but we ain’t seeing nothin’ new either.’ You know what I mean? (laughs) And I thought about that a lot, and I didn’t want to be that guy. That’s why I backed away, tried to make the best record I could, and then we’re gonna go out there with new music and a new energy, which is, pardon the pun, what The Big Revival is all about.”
