KENNY CHESNEY: The Boys Are Back in Town

Kenny Chesney‘s hot new single, “The Boys of Fall,” is rocketing up the radio charts — and while Kenny certainly deserves credit for a terrific performance, he would be quick to give a tip of the hat to songwriters Casey Beathard (beth-ard) and Dave Turnbull for crafting an amazing song. Kenny says that — the first time he heard it — he knew it was going to connect with a lot of people in a big way. Co-writer Casey Beathard, by the way, is already known to Kenny fans as the writer of “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems,” “The Road and the Radio,” and “Don’t Blink,” while Dave Turnbull has had a hand in writing such songs as Montgomery Gentry‘s chart-topping “Lucky Man,” “That’s Why” — the title track to Craig Morgan‘s latest album — and Chuck Wicks‘ current single, “Hold That Thought.” (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

  • “The Boys of Fall” will be on Kenny’s new album, Hemingway’s Whiskey, releasing on September 28th!

KENNY CHESNEY: The Boys Are Back in Town  Kenny Chesney felt that “The Boys of Fall” would immediately connect with listeners. (:31)
“I think that I’ve been very lucky to have a lot of songs do well, and to have a lot of songs touch a lot of people, but I don’t know if I’ve had a song like ‘Boys of Fall,’ ever. When I first heard this song, I knew that there was gonna be a lot of people that heard the lyrics to this song and really be able, not just to relate to it, but they live with it because there are so many lessons that, in life, that you learn on the football field that are very parallel with what happens in everyday life.”
