audio

Kenny Chesney is ready to hit the road, and kick-off the Spread The Love tour this weekend! Kenny says that all the rehearsals, and recent Keg In The Closet shows having been preparing him and his crew for a great tour in 2016. Kenny compares his touring season to another summer time event schedule–baseball. All the prep work is kind of like spring training, and then opening day hits, and they’re off to the races. This year, the race starts in Auburn, Alabama, at Jordan Hare Stadium–the home of Auburn University’s football team. Joining Kenny this weekend will be Miranda Lambert, Old Dominion and Sam Hunt. audio  Kenny Chesney explains why he did his Keg In The Closet shows before he starts up his Spread The Love tour. (:26)
We had a few, I like to call them preseason shows.  Did a Keg show down in the Florida Keys, and we do all that stuff just so we can get used to feeling the energy again up there. Just so we can not take anything for granted and that’s another reason we been rehearsing as hard as we have. And, you know, here we are, we almost getting ready to kick the Spread The Love 2016 tour off…wow! It’s going to be a fun one, it’s going to be awesome.”

“Our life is a lot like a baseball schedule, you know, or it has been in previous years, since we started the cycle anyway. But, you know it’s true like we have our Keg shows and we look at those as kind of like our spring training and then boom, there we are we’re…it’s opening day. Opening day is at Auburn this year at Auburn’s football stadium and it’s gonna be awesome, and then we’re off to the races.”

“That’s gonna be a great way to kick off the Spread The Love tour. Being in that environment, being up there on stage in front of all those people…some nights it’s like an avalanche coming at ya, and I feel it’s a very passionate group of people that will be there in the football stadium that night will be a fun way to kick it off”
