KENNY CHESNEY: Keep on Rock’n Me

Kenny Chesney and The Steve Miller Band take the stage for Friday night’s premiere of the newest installment of CMT’s hit series, Crossroads. For Kenny — who was grooving to the band’s classic Greatest Hits all through high school and beyond — having his career bring him to the point where he’s been able to get to know and perform with Steve has been a really cool and special experience. KENNY CHESNEY: Keep on Rock’n Me  Kenny Chesney never thought his life would bring him to a point of being on stage with Steve Miller. (:20)
“When I was in high school, I think all four years, and even into college, I know there was one CD that was a mainstay, and it was Steve Miller’s Greatest Hits. And I had that…I listened to his music all the time and never thinkin’ my life was gonna turn out into a place where I would share the stage with him and sing with him.”

KENNY CHESNEY: Keep on Rock’n Me  Kenny Chesney recalls his first meeting with Steve Miller. (:29)
“The first time I met Steve he came to our show in San Francisco. We played AT&T Park, where the Giants play out there, and he showed up at our soundcheck, and he came the next night, and we played a lot of music together that night, and that’s where that friendship was born. And never in my life did I think that I would ever be in…like I said, ever meet him, much less become really good friends with him and collaborate on stage, and it’s really special.”
