KENNY CHESNEY: Easy Does It

Kenny Chesney may be taking time off the road to focus on his upcoming album, but The Tennessean reported this morning that he’ll be headed to the Big Easy on May 17th to play a special, one-hour acoustic show at the House of Blues in New Orleans, with all proceeds to benefit the charities of two of his best friends: actor Matthew McConaughey’s Just Keep Livin’ Foundation and New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees’ The Brees Dream Foundation. Following a pre-sale to Kenny’s fan club earlier today, remaining tickets were made available to the general public on Ticketmaster.

  • General admission tickets, with all proceeds benefiting the two charities, are $350 each for the very intimate, limited-ticket event.
  • About the event, Kenny told The Tennessean, in part, “Drew and Matthew set the bar — for working hard, for giving back, for inspiring others. They inspire me. And if I can go play songs and help them raise money for their foundations, which do so much good, I’m happy to. When you factor in that I’ve been cooped up, not really playing, and I’m ready to get out there with some people… It’s a little selfish, ’cause the audience makes me feel so good! But having done this, I already know: we’re gonna have a ball, and no one will get out of there without a smile on their face.”
