KENNY CHESNEY: #1 Album!

audio

Congratulations to Kenny Chesney, who scores the 13th number-one album of his career as The Big Revival debuts atop Billboard‘s Top Country Albums chart with first-week sales of 130,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. And the success of the album is all the more rewarding for Kenny, who says that he’s very proud of what this album says and what it represents. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

  • The Big Revival also clocks-in at a very close number-two on the all-genre Billboard 200 sales chart, right behind the pairing of music legend Tony Bennett with Lady Gaga for their duets album, Cheek to Cheek, prompting Kenny to say in a press release, “There are things on here unlike anything I’ve ever done. That music lovers respond to my record and Tony Bennett with that amount of passion makes me believe there will always be room for interesting music. It’s up to us to challenge ourselves to make it.”
  • Kenny is out now with “Til It’s Gone,” the second single from The Big Revival and the follow-up to the number-one smash, “American Kids.”
  • Pick up The Big Revival everywhere you find great music, including here, on iTunes.

audio  Kenny Chesney talks about the thread of his chart-topping new album, The Big Revival. (:34)
“A lot of these songs are talking about living in now. Like, on some of my songs, people think that all I sing about’s escapism, but it’s really interesting because if you really look at a lot of songs that I’ve had, a lot of the songs that I’ve released — especially some of the songs on this record — are about living in the moment and getting the most out of it. And I think that that’s a really strong thread through this record on the song ‘Til It’s Gone,’ on…even ‘Don’t It.’ That’s the thread of this record that I’m really proud of, I feel really strongly about, and that’s why I think this record has the energy that it has is because of that thread — and I’m happy about that.”
