“Hey it’s Karley Scott Collins and this is my song Petty In The 80s.”
So when I was recording I really wanted a song that was upbeat and fun and something that people would really enjoy hearing live. And one of my co writers Brock Berryhill, he knew that I really loved Tom Petty so he actually came in with the title Petty In The 80s. And he Josh Miller, the other co writer, and I just had so much fun writing it and I really enjoyed getting to reference Tom Petty since I’ve loved him my entire life. And when we finished writing it that day, I just knew that that was the kind of song I was looking for.
