“I’ve had to mature so much these past two years, mentally a lot, just because I was stuck in going to be a kid forever kind of thing. And that 25 hit and rocked my world. Now I’m 26 and I just kind of look at life a little different. I look at time a little different. I feel like every time I go home, there’s different wrinkles on my family’s face. And it kind of, it kind of puts you in a different spot. So I think about time a lot differently and how precious it is. And I want to make the most of it while I’m here you know? So I think that is kind of the maturity era of this is just like seeing the trueness and all the B.S. of of the world. Seeing the good and all the bad situations and trying to try to navigate those waters is something that I had to learn a lot.”
CUT X CUT (AUDIO ONLY):
“911 is a song that take you back to the glory days of Tonk music back to when Travis tritt was singing treble on your radio this song takes me back to a time of some of my earliest memories of country music.”
“Nothin’ Slowin’ Us Down is a song inspired by my fiance and I’ll just leave it at that y’all make your own assumptions.”
“On My Way out is a song about slowing down or reflecting on your life because you only get one. And I hope that when my time comes to an end that I got to do everything that I wanted.”
“Never Really Know is a song about how a lot of us live today I feel like not a lot of people look up from their phones to talk to anyone anymore. And we don’t know how much just a simple hey how you doing can really help someone in a tough time.”
“Tennessee Don’t Mind is a song that I felt like really represented how I felt about Nashville and the music industry as a whole. I love being home but sometimes the road keeps me out a little longer than I was expecting but luckily I always have something waiting back in Tennessee for me.”
“Leaning On You is a song about my fiance and how she hold me and our relationship together.”
“High Hopes is a song about wishing that the one that got away would come back.”
“One That I Don’t Call is a song for anybody that’s ever lost a relationship and felt the desperation of trying to get it back.”
“Lock Me Up is a song for my small town people I’ve always lived in a small town until I moved to Nashville and now I miss that slow down life more than anything.”
“Sometimes a night with someone can spark something that is very long lasting and work forever and then sometimes it won’t and that’s kind of what the song is about is trying to find out if this situation is going to be a forever thing or just a night.”
“Quit You is a song dedicated to my fiance. I wrote this to close a chapter for me and opened a chapter for us it calls back to my first song I put out, “Giving You Up.” And represents that I can never let a love like what I found with her go.”
“Smaller is a song for anybody who has lost someone. I’ve lost friends and family and it just doesn’t feel the same without being able to give them a call whenever you want. I hope people will be able to lean on this song and hard times.“
“Strangers is by far one of my favorite songs off this album. It’s a very relatable song for anybody that’s had an ex that you just can’t seem to leave behind.”
“Broke Down In A Truck is a vivid song for me it takes me to a time that I remember very well in my life not all breakups hurt the same but everyone remembers the hardest one.”
“Keeping The Lights On is a true story about my family and the promises that I’ve made them to persevere when the going gets tough.”
