YOURS OR MINE
JH: My song “Yours or Mine” is one of the first songs that I wrote with my good buddies Michael Whitworth and Danny Ross and it’s just kinda about the back and forth of the beginning stage of getting to know somebody or a relationship and just kinda who’s going to be the first one to call it what it is and it’s one of my favorite songs on the EP and I hope you guys love it.
HOLLYWOOD
JH: “Hollywood” is a song that I wrote with my good buddies Michael Whitworth and Danny Ross. We had written a bunch of songs for the project and as I was going through them
I realized that I didn’t really have a love song and I remember Michael Whitworth had this title in his phone called “All the Drugs in Hollywood” and it just kinda turned into this fun challenge of how to turn that into a love song. I hope you love it.
TOP DRAWER
JH: My song “Top Drawer” is one of my favorite songs on the EP. I’d gone home for Christmas and my parents had left a lot of the stuff in my room that I grew up in the same and I had this zippo lighter with a Playboy bunny on it and old pictures of me and my friends and old concert stubs and I had brought it back to my cowriters in Nashville and I realized that I had never kind of heard a song about that and so that was what we did and we wrote this song called “Top Drawer”.
GOING HOME
JH: “Going Home” is a song – it’s one of the most personal ones on the project. It’s just about going back to your hometown and realizing how much you’ve changed as a person and how much nothing about the town has changed and how much everything has changed all at the same time and just trying to recapture that feeling of home and it’s never really the same but that’s “Going Home”.
DRIFTER
JH: “Drifter” is an autobiographical song just about my overwhelming fear of commitment. It’s kind of this back and forth of like I want to have something real and tangible but at the same time I want to run away from it and that’s “Drifter”.

Produced by Daniel Ross, Between The Clouds features Hendricks’s critically-acclaimed “Yours or Mine” and the “sultry, sexy” (Billboard) “Hollywood,” along with three new tracks. Hendricks co-wrote each song on the EP.
“I named the EP ‘Between The Clouds’ because writing these songs have been little moments of clarity and light in between a lot of confusion and anxiety that I’ve dealt with over the years,” said Hendricks. “I hope these songs bring some of the same joy they’ve brought me, to others. I’m so excited to finally get to share it with people.”

ABOUT JOEY HENDRICKS: Called “the Nashville John Mayer” by Pop-Culturalist, Hendricks is named an Artist to Watch in 2021 by Popstar! Magazine, Stage Right Secrets, Outsider, Country Sway, Off The Record, among others. Originally from Anacortes, Washington, he moved to Nashville in 2017, and quickly made a name for himself in the songwriting community as a talented lyricist and gifted musician. He signed a publishing deal with Parallel Entertainment, whose head, Tim Hunze, encouraged him to make the leap into solo artistry by cutting a few of his own songs.
